Job SummaryReports to department manager or designate. Under limited supervision, assists department supervisor in overseeing the production, quality of work, and schedules of technicians. Responsible for ensuring that the duties of the department are accomplished.Oversees a wide variety of skilled preparation and operation of analytical equipment. Performs quality control testing on incoming raw materials and final product. Performs maintenance of various equipment. Corrects routine and non-routine problems. Adheres to strict safety regulations of company. Interfaces with Research & Development group. Operates and trains on operation of test equipment. Must be regular and punctual in attendance. Responsible for maintaining quality within the scope of the job description.QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience as Process Operator at NuSil desirable. Computer literate (WORD/EXCEL). Familiar with lab equipment operation and set-up. Experience working with chemicals and chemical reactions helpful.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to work in metrics.REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
