Modern Mill is looking for motivated individuals to join our team as a residential electrician. In this role, you will be trained in and responsible for installing, and troubleshooting electrical installs in a residential setting. You must have a positive attitude, a dedicated work ethic, and ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment. You must also be reliable and work well in teams. Essential Responsibilities Install electrical systems in new construction and remodel environments; Perform service panel upgrade; Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures; Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment as needed; Experience bending EMT conduit; Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components; Read specifications, site layout drawings, and instructions to design, build, and repair residential and commercial solar systems; Maintain cleanliness of job site and company vehicles; Clean, maintain, adjust, calibrate, and service equipment used in the performance of duties; and, Attention to detail, multi task, follow head contractors instruction. The following abilities are needed to be able to fulfil your general duties listed above: Full Benefits Package Requirements At least 1-3 year of professional electrical experience; Basic knowledge of NEC code preferred, but not required; Basic knowledge of electrical material and equipment; Experience installing both roof and ground mount systems; Experience with micro and string inverters as well as setting up monitoring systems. NABCEP Certification preferred; Journeyman Electrician Certification in the State of Illinois; General construction knowledge to include: roofing, electrical, and carpentry skills Experience with electrical work involving up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC A working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), Uniform Building Code (UBC), local & utility jurisdiction requirements; Experience complying with OHSA safety requirements and regulations; Professional appearance and excellent customer service; Extremely reliable with great attention to detail strong work ethic; Ability to travel 1-4 hours from office for solar installs; Initial background check and drug screening may be required. Physical Requirements Lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance; Perform work on uneven and wet surfaces; Work in extreme weather conditions; Ability to climb ladder frequently while carrying equipment or material and work from various heights; Ability to walk, stand, and bend for long periods of time; Ability to use your hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling; Ability to follow safety policies and procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment required for the job in a safe manner; Must have and maintain a valid drivers license with clean driving record; Must have reliable transportation to and from the office (company vehicle will be provided from office to job sites); Must have full range or mobility in upper and lower body; ability to work in various positions & environments, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time; Ability to lift, pull and push materials and equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
