The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting a wide variety of manufacturing, supplier, engineering, and customer quality issues. RESPONSIBILITIES Uses different criteria and data analysis for improving processes & procedures. Analyzes all aspects of the product (cradle to grave). Effectively communicates and escalates any quality issues with management and the various departments in a consise and prompt fashion. Performs strategic planning to support and exceed company goals for product quality & reliability, manufacturing yields, Cost Of Poor Quality, and other metrics. Provides Quality support to Product Development to drive Quality Improvement by actively participating in Design Reviews Drives Corrective Action/Preventative Action (CAPA) activities to develop and implement effective corrective action and eliminate reoccurence. Works with operations as needed with respect to proper methodologies and instructions to correctly perform rework or special operations. Conducts training, process audits, product audits to ensure personnel are properly trained and that control plans are effective. Actively participates in the New Product Introduction process through the development & implementation of elements of APQP such as FMEA, PPAP, Control Plans, Gauge R & R, Failure Analysis, Process Controls, and Data Analysis. Ensures customer satisfaction by monitoring customer complaints, customer returns, and other customer related issues, creating CAPA for each issue, ensuring identification of true root cause and implementation of effective corrective actions. Actively participate in Supplier and Customer business reviews. Prepares quality data, assist in development of standard quality presentation and prepares material for review and presentation. Creates an action item list as necessary. Requirements BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or an Engineering degree accompanied with electronics assembly experience 6 years minimum experience as a Quality Engineer working with electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical assembly, dielectrics, injection molding, and PCBs. FDA regulatory experience Strong management, organizational, interpersonal and communications skills. Strong SMT, Through hole, and large system electronic assembly experience. Design for Excellence/Manufacturing/Assembly Experience Strong SPC (Control Charts, Pareto Analysis, Histograms, FMEAs, etc.) & Design of Experiments (DOE) experience Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) Experience working for a multinational company and diverse cultures/language backgrounds.
