The candidate will maintain a home office in their home county and will serve the entire state of Kentucky. The selected candidate must reside in one of the following counties or surrounding counties of the following counties listed: Allen, Butler, Daviess, Henderson, Hancock, McLean, Ohio, Simpson, Union, Webster, or Warren. Description The Department of Charitable Gaming (DCG) provides the regulatory framework that allowscharitable gaming to thrive as a viable fundraising mechanism. The department helps to ensurethe productivity of charitable gaming through appropriate regulation, oversight, and education.
The Compliance Officer I position performs physical inspections of charitable gaming facilitiesto determine compliance with charitable gaming laws in regulation, KRS Chapter 238.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performs physical inspections of charitable gaming organizations and facilities todetermine compliance with charitable gaming laws and regulations (KRS Chapter238). Prepares gaming inspection reports, and if violations are repeated, issues Noticeof Violations and process administrative changes. Examines financial records to compare income versus expenses and depositsinto gaming account. If fraud is discovered, forwards information to the criminalInvestigations Branch. Advises charitable gaming licensees on Kentucky Administrative Regulations andapplicable Kentucky Revised Statutes which govern charitable gaming. Offersassistance to organization officials as they attempt to conform to the gamingregulations and statutes. Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Skills and Abilities: Highly organized and detail oriented with an eye for detail. Strong written and communication skills. Excellent computer skills. Additional/Supplemental Information: The candidate will maintain a home office in their home county and will serve the entirestate of Kentucky. The selected candidate must reside in one of the following counties orsurrounding counties of the following counties listed: Allen, Butler, Daviess, Henderson,Hancock, McLean, Ohio, Simpson, Union, Webster, or Warren. This position requires work primarily on nights and weekends. Travel is required and a state vehicle will be assigned to the selected candidate. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience as a sworn police officer or investigatory or inspection experience for a federal or state regulatory agency will substitute for the required education on the basis of one year of experience for two years of college. General business or administrative experience will substitute for the required education on a year for year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year for year basis. Prior military experience will only substitute if the individual received an honorable discharge, discharge under honorable conditions, or a general discharge.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Working Conditions Nature of industry requires work on a regular basis on weekends and occasionally on holidays. Extensive automobile travel (including overnight travel) is required throughout an assigned geographic region in the performance of inspections. Job duties will largely be performed during evening hours. There will be regular exposure to secondary tobacco smoke at inspection sites.
