The position will be headquartered at the CDTFA HQ building or one of the in-state field offices: Bakersfield, Cerritos, El Centro, Fairfield, Fresno, Glendale, Irvine, Oakland, Rancho Mirage, Redding, Riverside, Salinas, San Diego, San Francisco (temporarily headquartered in Oakland), San Jose, Santa Rosa, Stockton, Ventura, West Covina (office will relocate to Diamond Bar in 2024).
The Collection Support Bureau (CSB) within the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) is looking for ambitious and driven individuals to join our Bankruptcy Section to accomplish our mission of making life better for Californians by fairly and efficiently collecting the revenue that supports essential services in our communities.
As a Business Taxes Specialist I, you will use your knowledge, skills, and abilities to review bankruptcy cases and provide guidance to team members. Managing the most complex bankruptcy cases will strengthen your skills as you communicate regularly with taxpayers, their representatives, trustees, attorneys, and other divisions. Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for full or part-time telework for eligible candidates residing in California.

Team members are required to report to their headquarters office as needed.
Working Conditions
Position may be located in a high-rise building. Telework is available. Standard office environment. Requires being in a stationary position, consistent with office work, for extended periods of time. Daily use of a personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone. Must be able to move/transport materials weighing up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Travel is required 10% of the time. Position may require overnight travel for up to five consecutive nights to meeting training requirements.
