You will serve as a WRITER in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
You will conduct reviews of position descriptions and recommend modifications and changes to the Production Department organizational charts.
You will collaborate with shipyard management to construct documents related to a broad range of work assignments and duties performed throughout the shipyard.
You will frequently rewrite deficient documents written by others to ensure information is clear and accurate.
You will establish the written tone and content of all production department awards, incentive and recognition programs.
You will utilize various processing and /or electronic publishing programs to prepare draft publications.
Conditions of Employment
To qualify for the GS-07 your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: – Experience providing assistance in converting portions of manuscripts to charts, figures, or tables into other accessible formats. – Experience using various electronic resources, software, databases and web applications to track administrative and/or personnel actions.- Experience writing/rewriting documents written by others in correcting format, style, grammar, and eliminating spelling errors in final products. – Experience conducting content research for awards incentive and recognition programs.
– Experience providing data to management for aid in making decisions on position classification standards, personnel regulations, procedures, and correspondence.- Experience providing assistance in researching, analyzing, and preparing various administrative/personnel products when little or unclear information exits.. To qualify for the GS-11 your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: -Experience collaborating with managers in planning and developing extensive management policies and procedures.- Experience converting narrative portions of manuscripts to charts, figures, or tables into other accessible formats. – Experience using various electronic resources, software, databases and web applications to track administrative and/or personnel actions.- Experience writing/rewriting documents written by others in correcting format, style, grammar, and eliminating spelling errors in final products. – Experience writing awards and content for incentive and recognition programs.-Experience developing and writing position descriptions, advising management on position classification standards, personnel regulations, procedures, and correspondence.
– Experience in researching, analyzing, and preparing various administrative/personnel products when little or unclear information exits.
