Duties and Responsibilities: The Technical Solutions Architect will provide development, security, and operations (DevSecOps) services to support a federal agency. On this team, you will be operating and modernizing complex, legacy, large-scale, web application solutions and IT systems in the cloud using forward-thinking, modern, open-source technologies and backend systems. You will work with solution teams and product managers to define solution roadmaps based on feasibility, technical integration requirements and dependencies. You will collaborate with program leadership to convert strategic vision into a tactical solution implementation strategy. Work with Product Managers to define minimum viable products (MVPs) and help define solution release plans. Identify enabler features with technical dependencies and integration requirements. Work with user experience designers to incorporate user centric design requirements into solution architecture strategy. Support portfolio and program level solution planning activities. Other duties and responsibilities include but may not be limited to: Establish system information requirements using analysis of the information engineer(s) in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems Design architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces Ensure these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for open systems architectures, the OSI and ISO reference models, and profiles of standards – such as IEEE OSE reference model – as they apply to the implementation and specification of information management solution of the application platform, across the API, and the external environment/software application Ensure that the common operating environment is compliant with the enterprise architecture and applicable reference models Evaluate analytically and systematically problems of workflows, organization, and planning and develop appropriate corrective action Provide daily supervision and direction to staff Adopt a Modern Agile Methodology (DevSecOps + Microservices Architecture in Cloud Native) Provide Technical Coaching Support, including: Code Development Test Automation Frameworks Cloud Architecture Containerization Platform Production Monitoring Continuous Delivery/Integration in Cloud Based environments Guiding Engineers on Agile technical best practices and emerging technology Build and/or enhance existing testing frameworks Implementation of DevSecOps best practices for the development teams that has a diverse maturity in the utilization of DevSecOps practices, microservices, architecture, technology stacks and deployment orchestration approaches Increase the quality and frequency of application delivery via adoption of a modern Agile methodology, including DevSecOps practices and microservices architecture in cloud native Provide Enterprise Level support Requirements Minimum Qualifications/Experience: Experience implementing DevSecOps, including practices that “shift left” security engineering and testing practices Experience with test, integration, and deployment automation and monitoring technologies, tools, and practices Experience developing common services, frameworks, utilities, recipes and patterns for agile teams to use and follow Experience developing proof of concept / proof of value Experience researching and evaluating software tools, plugins, and innovative techniques for the provisioning of infrastructure, security, container orchestration, and CI/CD Experience performing compatibility and interoperability analysis and performing interface testing Experience building tools, containers, frameworks, workflow engines, microservices, and common services Experience developing and supporting governance of technical architecture and security standards, including creating and maintaining associated technical artifacts Experience with business process modeling and data mapping Experience with data architecture and enterprise data management, including data governance and reference data services Experience with database performance enhancements, tuning, restructuring, and normalization Experience in the solution stack technologies: Ansible Apigee Chef CloudBees Jenkins Enterprise Kafka Nexus OpenShift Service Pipeline Sonar Qube Spacewalk Twistlock Chef JIRA AWS Minimum Education: Minimum MS/MBA or 10+ Years of Experience Required Certifications: SAFe Certification Preferred Scrum-certified by Scrum Alliance or Scrum.org Other: Must be US Citizen Active DHS Public Trust Clearance preferred; ability to obtain clearance is required Role is primarily remote during COVID-19; some on-site meetings may occur
