Reporting to Sr. Director Network Architecture, Engineering & Automation, the Sr. Mgr with Cloud native/Cloud first approach will be managing the team of Network Tools and Services Design Engineers assisting in the design and engineering related to JNJ’s Next-Generation network vision of Software Defined Networks by enabling Network Automation Tools, Engineering/Ops tools and consistently improving services like DNS, IPAM, DHCP, ISE, etc on-prem and in the Cloud.

The successful person is able to transform complex problems and abstract concepts into executable technology solutions. In this role, the candidate will be accountable for leading, driving and developing network designs that are best suited for Business requirements. The role will be responsible for documenting these designs and ensuring communication and delivery of these services globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of consistent design, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning of Network Tools and Services across Global Network Services
  • Evaluation of new tools and services to ensure organization is using the best technologies to meet strategic goals
  • Establish and maintain regular communications with peers, Architects, Engineering, deployment as well as operations teams, supplier management and vendors regarding requisite network infrastructure changes and improvement opportunities
  • Provide strong technical leadership and guidance on Network Tools and Services strategies; including maturation of existing technologies, new tools and services development, and integrations.
  • Consult with peer organizations and management on standard methodologies for the process and procedures to deploy & support Network Tools at scale. This includes following SDLC procedures and TQ processes while also providing training, support, documentation and all users.
  • Collaborate with engineering team to drive supportable solution development. Provide knowledge transfer sessions with peer organizations and suppliers regarding changes in procedures, processes, documentation and frameworks
  • Leads the development of a release management plan for platform hardware platforms by using tools which can be coordinated by automation/orchestration platforms


  • Bachelors in Computer Science OR Software Engineering OR related technical degree experience
  • 8+ years of Enterprise Network experience with a highly available global production infrastructure
  • 2+ yrs of experience leading Network Engineering teams
  • Working knowledge of routing protocols like BGP, EIGRP, L2/L3 LAN, Wifi, Campus networks.
  • Solid understanding of Software Defined Data Centers, Cloud Networking
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skill with experience communicating highly conceptual designs to executives, mid-level management’s, and peer engineers.
  • Travel is required up to 10%.
