ORM partners closely with various stakeholders across the enterprise to implement strong processes and effective controls, as well as to foster and embed a strong risk culture. This position will report to MetLife’s centralized ORM function which is responsible for the global adoption and execution of MetLife’s non-financial risk management framework and provides operational risk coverage of MetLife corporate functions (e.g. Global Technology & Operations, Procurement/Sourcing, Finance, Human Resources, etc.). The individual will provide critical support working with corporate function leaders, Regional Risk Management and Compliance in the global roll-out and ongoing execution of an enhanced Non-Financial Risk Assessment (NFRA) Framework. The individual will report to Head of Enterprise Operational Risk Framework, Governance and Reporting and will gain invaluable experience working across the global risk management function. Key Responsibilities: Provide ORM coverage of corporate functions, operating as a strategic advisor Ensure effective implementation of risk identification and assessment processes Conduct deep dive assessments / gap analysis and document findings Lead and participate in cross-functional strategic projects Advise on risk mitigation strategies and oversee remediation of material issues Partner with control organizations to evaluate existing control frameworks for alignment and define reliance model Collaborate with the business and control organizations to develop and/or refine key non-financial risk metrics Perform third party risk management framework, processes and controls review; identify opportunities for enhancement Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills: Required: 5+ years of financial services experience; Proactive, intellectually curious, willing to challenge others and operate with a sense of urgency Strong knowledge of risk management best practices and emerging industry developments Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills Prior experience managing complex large-scale global projects; strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities Ability to manage shifting priorities to deliver results Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare and conduct presentations and communicate with senior and executive management Must be a dedicated, self-motivated individual with an ability to work independently and in a team environment Excellent interpersonal skills required to develop partnerships and relationships in a cross-functional environment Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Bachelor’s degree Preferred: experience working in Risk / Compliance / Audit preferred Travel n/a Business Category Risk Management Number of Openings 1 At MetLife, we’re leading the global transformation of an industry we’ve long defined.
