BBSI is currently seeking an experienced Equipment Maintenance Technician for a 3 month contract to hire opportunity paying $18.00 – $20.00 hourly depending on experience. Work shift starts at 7:00 am.
Determine vehicle/equipment condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
Correct vehicle/equipment deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; complete machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
Verify vehicle/equipment performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
Maintain vehicle/equipment appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
Maintain vehicle/equipment records by annotating services and repairs in Tatems.
Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Containing costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.
Attend weekly Manager Meetings.
Wear proper PPE at all times, both on site and off site, including, but limited to, ANSI rated safety toe boots, safety vests, gloves, and hardhat.
