You will serve as a Engineering Technician (Naval Architecture) in the Engineering and Planning Department of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
You will provide technical guidance for preparation of and prepare drawings required to execute complex projects.
You will determine special equipment required to perform tests.
You will act as a troubleshooter in the identification and resolution of problems encountered during installations, or testing phases of waterfront production efforts.
You will provide all structural foundations, special racks and modifications to install a special system in a specific space.
Conditions of Employment
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with structural and naval architecture concepts and principles.
Experience with evaluating and applying the latest development and techniques in solving problems not readily treatable by traditional or accepted methods.
Experience with related engineering fields including mechanical and electrical.
