You will develop comprehensive installation design plans, system analysis, safety, test support, specifications and standards, performance and maintenance data analysis, and maintenance engineering.

You will provide or arrange on-site corrective actions, engineering investigations to evaluate reliability, maintainability, availability, and logistical support of system/equipment as tasked by the Officer in Charge.

You will provide continuity and technical expertise on established communications equipment and provide troubleshooting and repair assistance.

You will conduct on-going technical analysis of existing communications equipment to ensure maximum capability is being achieved with present equipment.

You will negotiate ownership, transfer and re-utilization of existing government assets, and disposal of telecommunication assets or facilities no longer required.

You will work with supervisor in developing valid work performance standards and Individual Development Plans.

Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: Experience conducting the Fleet Readiness Certification Board Process and equipment installation policies. Experience in operating hardware with telecommunication systems, such as Military Strategic Tactical Relay (MILSTAR), Family of Advanced Beyond Line of Site Terminal (FAB-T) or Navy Multiband Terminal (NMT). Experience evaluating/ diagnosing electronic communication equipment to conduct electronic system alignments, failure analysis and equipment repair. Experience in the planning, scheduling, acquisition, installation, integration, modification, and testing of communication equipment systems.
