Job Description

We are looking for a friendly, outgoing, competent Dental Front Office – Dental Receptionist who will make the dentist’s office more efficient and pleasant for patients. You’ll ensure excellent customer service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentist’s shoulders. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office policies. We want you to be skilled in providing assistance with front office procedures and keep the office running as smoothly as possible.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Stands and warmly greets patients upon entering the practice.
  • Provides quality customer service to patients and parents at check-in and check-out
  • Check-in and check-out of patients, including but not limited to; insurance data entry, patient demographics, and collecting balances due.
  • Answers phones, directs calls as necessary and is a resource for incoming calls.
  • Makes outgoing phone calls to fill gaps in the practice schedule, verify future appointments, or any other calls as directed by the Office Manager or Practicing Dentists.
  • Verifies insurance and service limits, using all available resources to ensure the accuracy of patient insurance data and receipt of eligibility. Additionally, sends and confirms insurance pre-authorizations as necessary.
  • Performs treatment plans (financial estimates) for patients, estimating patient and insurance payments.
  • Responsible for maintaining a balanced schedule to promote efficient practice flow and productive days. Follows scheduling protocols as directed by the leadership team.
  • Ensure parents who are waiting are kept informed of the progress of their appointment or child
  • Assist with meeting office financial targets by ensuring the hygiene and operative schedules are full
  • Schedule follow-up operatory and six-month recall appointments for patients

  • Be able to multi-task and be detail-oriented, with a willingness to learn and assist the team as needed
  • Exceptional phone manners with the ability to proactively book appointments and project an inner smile over the phone
  • Be able to juggle multiple incoming lines
  • Great administrative organizational skills
  • Self-starter with the motivation to learn and grow within the position

Dr. Juanita Taylor is a graduate of Indiana University School of Dentistry. She believes in staying current in professional organizations, continuing education, and training courses in order to provide the newest and best treatments available in dental care for children. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, Indianapolis District Dental Society and an American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Affiliate Member.

Research has shown that dental caries (cavities) is the most common chronic disease in children. For this reason, Dr. Taylor has chosen to provide comprehensive oral health care to children, teens, and young adults. Dr. Taylor’s experience with children has helped to shape her practice philosophy that oral health and nutrition play a vital role in one’s healthy growth and development, self-esteem, confidence, and overall well-being.
