The Goldwater Institute seeks an entrepreneurial self-starter to join the team as a Contributing Writer who will focus their efforts on uncovering stories about emerging trends in education, including school choice, curriculum, and cultural issues.
The Contributing Writer will generate unique and interesting storyline pitches to the Communications Director, and research and write short-form reports and feature stories to be published on the Goldwater Institute’s website and blog, along with outside op-eds. The Contributing Writer will be a contract-based position with an obligation to produce stories on a weekly basis.
An ideal candidate is first and foremost an excellent writer, has experience in political journalism and/or education, is eager to aggressively and independently pursue stories, and thrives on writing timely and relevant articles that expose readers to stories not covered in traditional media. The position requires a passion for telling stories, breaking news, and a commitment to advancing the Goldwater Institute’s mission.
This position may be based in our Phoenix, Arizona, office or be virtual.
