As a materials testing technician, you will support infrastructure projects in Grand Junction or Durango.
Working with other members of the team, you will prepare soil, concrete, and asphalt samples from various sources and follow standard sampling procedures for specific testing to determine the suitability of the materials for the intended use. You will assist professional engineers or professional geologist in the practical application of engineering or scientific processes and techniques related to civil engineering. You will review the work of contractors, inspect and document work on construction projects.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Entry Level Field/Lab Technician (No Experience Required – We Will Train You)
High school/GED and/or US military training
Aptitude with math a requirement
We will train the right candidate
Senior Lab or Field Technician:
A comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects of construction materials testing
High school graduation/GED plus 5-6 years of experience in materials testing, or 10 years of complex construction experience or US military construction training in lieu of a degree
Certifications such as NICET, Labcat, ACI, etc.
Excellent oral and written communication, team-oriented work practices, self-motivated, with strong technical problem-solving skills
