SUMMARY:

Jumpstart your career with MAU’s client in Newnan, GA, and expand your professional portfolio. As the Buyer, you will be responsible for all purchasing functions for our client including sourcing, negotiation and supplier maintenance. As a member of our clients global Purchasing team responsible for Strategic Purchasing projects and other sourcing activities in North America.

REQUIREMENTS:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or comparable degree programs
  • Professional certification (e.g. ISM certificate programs) a plus
  • 5+ years’ of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Required to have strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Self-confidence, strong negotiation skills, assertiveness, as well as effective communication are a must
  • Knowledge of the German or Spanish language is not required but an advantage
  • High degree of independence and strong analytical skills required
  • Must have a strong aptitude to manage numbers and data in general
  • The employee must have advanced knowledge of MS Excel and at least basic knowledge of MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, a plus
  • Must feel comfortable using these tools and be quick to develop additional computer skills as needed while on the job

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

  • Creates tenders and analyses quotes to prepare the selection of parts and suppliers
    • Evaluates new and existing suppliers and their capabilities
    • Assesses short-term and long-term impacts of potential supplier or product changes by considering all aspects, e.g. inventory and capital impacts and logistics costs
    • Creates and updates purchasing agreements for new and existing suppliers
    • Maintains purchasing quality records
  • Creates, coordinates and monitors project-specific requirements planning (ramp-up, SOP)
  • Conducts price and contract negotiations with national and international suppliers
    • Negotiates with new and existing suppliers’ prices and any other terms for inventoried items and non-inventoried items and services
  • Supervises purchasing and development projects
    • Supports Logistics in case of supply problems as needed
  • Interfaces between project management and suppliers during the development of new products and the clarification of technical requirements
  • Calculates, monitors, and reports on purchasing projects
  • Product Change Notification and Second Source Management
