Banner Project Manager Position Focus: Support the ITS Student and Academic Support Systems(SASS), Campus Community Technologies with their Banner implementation as follows: • Performs the lead role in planning, management and execution of medium to large scale projects involving Student and Academic Support Systems. • Participates in major change initiatives to ensure successful on time completion. • Coordinates and facilitates activities involving ITS, the registrar and student financials offices towards the implementation of the project. • Keeps track of all the initiatives undertaken as a part of the project ensuring that timelines are adhered to. • Works with functional and technical teams to ensure optimum choices are made with regard to technical direction and implementation. • Leverages experiences from prior student information system implementations to help with planning and strategy. • Prepare for and lead the administrative and funding related meetings. Principal Responsibilities: 1. Oversees the execution and implementation of detailed project plans in concert with stakeholders. 2. Manages several routine projects simultaneously and ensures that the design, testing, training, documentation and prioritization objectives are met. 3. Assists in refining and re-sequencing during the implementation and execution phases of assigned projects, as needed. 4. Works closely with business analysts, technical professionals, end users and project stakeholders during the requirements, solutions design and implementation phases to develop detailed project plans for implementation. 5. Works on risk assessment, communication planning, development of performance metrics, and project entry criteria. 6. Creates detailed project plans including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful project completion. 7. Manages client expectations and provides issue/risk identification and escalation pathways. 8. May supervise the implementation team of cross-functional project and technical resources. 9. Designs, develops, and executes communication systems to ensure effective exchange of information between project stakeholders, senior management, and staff. 10. Resolves complex project issues that involve representatives from multiple organizations. 11. Complies with standard policies and procedures. 12. May supervise and train junior project managers. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Skill/Ability 1: Excellent attitude, oral and written communication skills. Required Skill/Ability 2: Experience with managing or leading a major project implementation within the student information systems area. Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Bachelor's degree and at least five years’ experience, or an equivalent. Preferred: Experience in the following areas: Project management expertise and experience. Participation in multiple implementations involving aspects of Student Information Systems. Familiarity with Student information and hands on prior experience with Ellucian Banner from a support, business analyst, developer or project management perspective.
