The Underwriting Manager is responsible for delivering leadership and direction to several teams of Underwriters, Underwriting Team Leads and Quality Control professionals responsible for providing sound decisions on a variety of loan products. The Underwriting Manager provides strategic input and leadership in decision making issues affecting the Company's underwriting function.

Essential Functions Include:

• Develop, document and improve underwriting guidelines to ensure consistent, high quality underwriting in collaboration with Operations, Compliance, and Corporate training.
• Ensure that underwriting turn times and decisions are sound and within the scope of good business practices and company policies.
• Instruct and lead underwriting team in appropriate risk management principles and how to interpret and apply credit guidelines and procedures.
