Trainee Line Mechanic

Overview

Northpower is looking for enthusiastic Trainee Line Mechanic’s to join our Lines Construction and Maintenance team. This is a great opportunity to develop a hands‑on trade, gain recognised qualifications, and grow your career in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the team with the construction and maintenance of overhead electricity lines.
• Learn to operate electrical equipment up to 33kV and assist with the installation and replacement of pole structures, conductors and hardware.
• Complete block courses and gain hands‑on experience in the field.
• Ensure all documentation, inspections and reporting are completed accurately.
• Work safely, communicate effectively and contribute to a positive, productive team environment.

Qualifications

• NZ Driver Licence.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
