Groombridge St Thomas is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant from September 2026 until July 2027 in the first instance. Our Teaching Assistants play a crucial role in the day to day life of the school. The post involves supporting pupils with their learning under the direction of the class teacher or SENCo. Throughout the week you may be working 1:1 with a pupil, with a group of pupils or supporting generally in the class. Our TAs also play a crucial role in supporting during lunchtimes and PPA time.

The person appointed needs to have strong behaviour management skills, good communication skills, be enthusiastic, flexible and a good team player yet self-motivated enough to use their own initiative when necessary. You should also have good numeracy and literacy skills/qualifications and prior experience of working with children.
