Job Summary

SMS Healthcare Assistant required at HMP Altcourse, a Category B male prison in Fazakarley, Liverpool. The role is a crucial part of the Substance Misuse team, delivering care, supporting patients and contributing to the team’s success.

Hours & Salary

• Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week with shifts across Monday to Sunday.
• Annual salary £24,669‑£28,690, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement clinical care packages, phlebotomy, assessment, treatment and evaluation of patients (including venepuncture and tissue viability).
• Support the SMS Nursing team in delivering medication and care to substance‑misuse patients.
• Primarily work within the clinical substance‑misuse team, with occasional duties in the primary care team.
