Job Summary
Provides perfusion support service through operation and maintenance of various extracorporeal equipment and instrumentation to support surgical procedures. Provides care for patients in a variety of age ranges. Must be certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion, or must complete the certification procedure within two years of employment.
Job Duties
+ Operates and maintains extracorporeal equipment and instrumentation during surgery.
+ Utilizes blood gas exchange devices and related systems, under accepted clinical protocol, to provide perfusion during adult, pediatric, and neonatal procedures.
+ Maintains perfusion records and associated data.
+ Takes appropriate action when abnormal situations arise.
+ Operates, maintains, and monitors instrumentation and equipment to provide extracorporeal support to the various non-cardiac services.
