Summary: The inpatient staff speech pathologist (SLP) will have the education, knowledge and skill to provide inpatient services, focusing on functional skills to enhance development, restore function and to prevent disability from pediatric conditions, illness and injury in an acute medical setting. Evaluation, treatment and home programming are provided for children primarily with feeding and swallowing disorders, or new onset articulation, voice, resonance, fluency, and receptive/expressive language disorders. The SLP will provide speech language services for chronically ill patients admitted to hospital for lengthy stays.
