Job Description Job Description SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER POSITION SUMMARY Provide day to day academic and behavior support to assigned students. Provide case management for assigned students and maintain all required special education documents. CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES Academic Instruction * Show evidence of pre-planned lessons plans and design lessons in clear, logical, sequential format. * Present lessons consistent with the curriculum guide and uses learning activities designed to achieve stated objectives. * Provide efficient and smooth transition between activities. * Make appropriate use of a variety of instructional materials. * Spend very little time on non-learning activities and set a pace for learning that is consistent with each student's functional ability. * Lessons are planned to meet each student's goals and objectives listed in the IEP. * Exhibit competence in their assigned teaching area.
