About the Role

Utilising Trust policies and protocols, under the proximal supervision of the clinical practitioner, the assistant practitioner will support patient care through a range of clinical and organisational duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake asymptomatic screening and order routine blood investigations, interpreting normal and altered values.
  • Carry out patient assessments, review medical history and report any changes to the clinical team.
  • Perform clinical skills including venepuncture, immunisation and provision of medication under Patient Specific Directions.
  • Maintain and update treatment lists for Chlamydia and routine contraception under PSDs.
  • Administer cryotherapy treatments when indicated.
  • Assist with partner notification and support patients to use the online e‑PN service.
  • Assess patients under 16 and discuss with the clinical team following Trust guidelines.
