About the Role

Do you have broad experience and understanding of sound and communications in a theatre environment? Can you use DiGiCo SD, d&b Soundscape, OSC and related software? Are you available to work from the start of September until January 2027?

We are looking for an experienced Senior Sound Technician (Sound No. 1 / PSE) to play a key role in delivering world-class theatre by supporting Sound Designers and Composers throughout the production process.


You will ensure that sound elements are delivered, safely, repetitively with programming and plotting in line with RSC procedures.


Reporting to the Head of Sound, key areas of responsibility include (please see the Role Profile for a comprehensive list):

  • Supporting visiting Sound Designers to realise their creative vision

  • Programming and operating DiGiCo sound desks and associated systems

  • Managing day‑to‑day sound requirements across assigned venues
