About the Role
Job Summary:
The Senior Archaeologist provides technical, programmatic, and project support to the Historic Preservation team, with a primary focus on compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) as part of environmental review and consultation processes. This position manages and supports multiple projects simultaneously, conducting archaeological assessments, cultural resource evaluations, regulatory coordination, and technical reviews to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local historic preservation requirements.
The role primarily supports projects funded by the . Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), including the Community Development Block Grant–Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) and Community Development Block Grant–Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) programs.
