Job overview

The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for providing clinical and operational leadership within the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) service, delivering high-quality, nurse-led care to patients on ambulatory care pathways. The post holder leads the assessment, care planning, treatment, discharge planning and ongoing management of patients, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and community services to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions, reduce readmissions and support safe care closer to home. The role also provides leadership and line management to the nursing team, ensuring safe, effective and evidence-based practice, maintaining Care Quality Commission standards, developing clinical pathways, and leading service improvement, audit and quality initiatives to support the continued development of the SDEC service.
