We are seeking a motivated researcher for a full-time permanent position within forensic genetics at the Department of Forensic Sciences, Oslo University Hospital (OUS).
The Forensic Genetics Research Group develops new methods and analytical approaches for biological trace evidence in criminal investigations. Our research focuses on advancing DNA and RNA-based technologies. Current research includes studies of RNA degradation to estimate the time since deposition of biological traces, microbiome analysis for forensic location inference, and development of new approaches for sampling and analysing human DNA from air and dust. The work involves laboratory methods such as collection and extraction of low-quality or low-quantity DNA samples, PCR and qPCR-based assays, multiplex assay development, capillary electrophoresis and sequencing, combined with statistical modelling and analysis of experimental ...
