Tromsø Geophysical Observatory
TGO is a unit under the Faculty of Science and Technology at UiT the Arctic University of Norway. TGO’s main responsibility is to maintain long time series of geomagnetic, ionospheric and upper atmosphere observations from Norway including Svalbard. These are time series that stretches more than a hundred years backwards in time. The responsibility has its origin from the incorporation of the Auroral Observatory into the University of Tromsø in 1972.
