Research Engineer (Robotics Hardware & Field Operations)

We are seeking a proactive and hands‑on Research Engineer to support the hardware development and field deployment of a modular construction robot. You will be the crucial link between lab‑based prototypes and real‑world construction sites, ensuring our robotic systems are robust, reliable, and rigorously tested.

• Assist in the mechanical assembly, wiring, and hardware troubleshooting of mobile bases, manipulators, and customized end‑effectors.
• Conduct sensor calibration (LiDAR, RGB‑D cameras) and maintain the hardware health of the robot fleet.
• Support the execution of laboratory and on‑site field trials, including logistical preparation and safety compliance.
• Collect, log, and analyze hardware performance and productivity measurement data during field tests.
• Design and fabricate mounting brackets and testing rigs using CAD (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) and 3D printing/machining.
