About the Role

Job Purpose

Responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of merchandise (fresh produce, groceries, FMCG, household goods, etc.) for the supermarket, ensuring optimal stock levels, quality, and cost‑efficiency while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers/vendors to secure the best prices, quality, and delivery terms
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders based on stock requirements and sales forecasts
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with store/warehouse teams to prevent overstocking or stockouts
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any delays or discrepancies with suppliers
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and payment terms with suppliers
