About the Role

Position Overview

Aalto University’s Department of Computer Science seeks three Postdoctoral Researchers to investigate the theoretical foundations of distributed quantum computing. The primary research theme is to determine which distributed tasks admit a quantum advantage and to analyze fundamental limits within the LOCAL model of distributed computing.

Research Group and Funding

You will join the research group of Jukka Suomela, a leading group in distributed and parallel computing with frequent publications in top conferences such as STOC, SODA, ICALP, PODC, and DISC. Projects are supported by an ERC Advanced Grant (Distributed Quantum Advantage, 2026–2031) and a QuantERA grant (Quantum Network Algorithms, 2026–2029).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research on distributed quantum computing.
  • Develop theoretical models and publish results in leading conferences and journals.
  • Present findings...
