Postdoctoral Fellow

*The School of Medicine - Department of Pathology -*has a one-year full-time postdoctoral position available in the laboratory of Dr. A. James Mixson in the Department of Pathology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. The mission of the University of Maryland School of Medicine Department of Pathology is to: deliver the highest quality diagnostic care to our patients and communities; partner with providers to optimize test utilization and interpretation for clinical management; educate the best future physicians, laboratorians, and scientists; and advance the frontiers of scientific knowledge in medicine. Our research team is interested in developing drug and gene carriers targeting solid tumors. Specifically, we are investigating several histidine-rich carriers of doxorubicin siRNA targeting oncogenes, as well as plasmids expressing tumor suppressor genes, to reduce breast cancer growth in a mouse model.
