Summary Functions as the General Surgeon/Physician aligned with the Surgery/Specialty Care Service in inpatient and outpatient settings at the Sioux Falls VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. This is an open continuous announcement until July 30, 2026. Qualified applicants will be considered and referred every 2 days until filled. Responsibilities The incumbent should be able to diagnose and treat all of the common general surgical conditions, including malignancies of the gastrointestinal tract (stomach, small and large intestine), gallbladder, endocrine system, skin and soft tissue. Experience and interest in vascular access (AV fistula creation especially), upper and lower endoscopy, and advanced laparoscopy is preferred. The candidate will be expected to participate in call schedule after hours and at least one weekend a month, and will need to possess the ability to respond promptly in emergent situations.
