MTC Peer tutors are current MTC students who promote student learning and academic success by helping to explain concepts from specific courses to other currently-enrolled MTC students.Peer tutors conduct one-on-one or group tutoring sessions on a regular basis. Peer tutors also lead study group sessions on a regular or as-needed basis throughout the semester. Peer tutors do not complete homework assignments, tests, or projects for students but rather help students to become more independent learners by explaining difficult concepts and serving as models of good studying, test-taking, and learning strategies. Peer tutors must attend tutor training sessions and be punctual for all tutoring/study group sessions. Peer tutors must keep accurate records of tutoring/study group sessions.
