Overview

At Peel CAS, our mission is to protect children and strengthen families and communities through partnership. We are currently seeking a Legal Counsel to join our Corporate Resources team on a 9-month contract basis.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Legal Services, provide comprehensive legal representation, consultation and training related to the Society's mandate and activities under the Child, Youth and Family Services Act.
• Prepare cases for presentation to all levels of court and tribunals, including research, court documentation, strategic planning and witness preparation.
• Attend court hearings on matters related to the Society’s mandate and ensure compliance with legislative requirements and timelines.
