About the Role

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for overseeing the full-cycle processing of Canadian payroll operations. This position combines day-to-day payroll execution with team leadership responsibilities and works closely with senior leadership to support team development, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll, including year-end activities.
  • Oversee post-payroll responsibilities, including statutory remittances, third-party payments, reconciliations, reporting, and general ledger support.
  • Support and optimize payroll system functionality, including:
  • Participating in requirements gathering and configuration updates
  • Assisting with report development, workflows, and payroll-related system enhancements
