The primary purpose of this position PATTERNMAKER, WG-4616-11 potential WG-4616-14, is to plan, design, layout, construct, alter, and repair complex molds, patterns, and core boxes from wood, composite, and other non-metallic substances that are used by plastic, foundry, and sheet metal fabrication facilities in the manufacture or repair of aircraft parts and equipment. Responsibilities Independently plan, execute, manufacture, repair, and modify three-dimensional patterns and molds. Visualize and plan for the type of patterns or molds that will be the most efficient and economical. Perform machine operation and bench work using precision tools such as saws, lathes, sanders, drills, planers, grinders, drill presses, shears and brakes, borers, routers, jointers, shapers, and mills.
