EAR 317 – Sedimentary Processes and Systems in the College of Arts and Sciences.
This is a 4-credit course taught in the fall semester 2026. Position begins August 17, 2026, and the first day of classes is August 24, 2026.
This course meets in-person on the Syracuse University campus.
Course Description:
Ancient sedimentary rocks and their modern analogs. Physical and chemical aspects of sedimentation and diagenesis. Introduction to sedimentary basins. Economic resources of sedimentary systems. Lecture, laboratory, and field trips. Students should have background knowledge of mineralogy and the history of Earth and life.
The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their per-credit-rate-history within the hiring department.
All course offerings are subject to funding availability and enrollment.
