Job Description
The Paint Prep Technician reports directly to the Paint Technician for guidance on tasks and priorities. The Paint Prepper is responsible for properly prepping the aircraft surface for painting.
Major Responsibilities of the Role:
- Keep all workshop areas, including materials and paint cabinets, clean, stocked, and organized at all times.
- Keep all tools and parts hanging hardware in good condition, immediately reporting any damaged, worn, or misused equipment.
- Use all provided tools, parts hanging hardware as intended, without deviating from their primary purpose.
- Conducting surface preparation including sanding, polishing, coating, and priming to ensure proper adhesion.
- Inspecting aircraft surfaces for defects, corrosion, or damage that may affect the paint application.
- Applying primers, fillers, and sealants to aircraft surfaces.
