About the Role

This post is a Registrar post of ST4+ in General/neonatal Paediatrics which is full time. The successful applicant will be on the middle grade rota. The Royal Berkshire Hospital Paediatric Department covers a large child population of around 125,000 and 5800 deliveries. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has 16 cots and 4 funded intensive care cots. There is also a transitional care arrangement for convalescing infants. There is one General Acute Paediatric Ward, Lion Ward. Lion Ward has 29 beds including a 6 bed High Dependency Unit and two oncology suites with accommodation for parents. Lion ward takes medical, surgical and orthopaedic patients. There is also a Paediatric Day Bed Unit, Kempton, which has 10 beds. All acute GP referrals are seen in the Paediatric Emergency department. All walk in paediatric patients are seen by the A&E team and referred to paediatrics if they need admission.
