Role and Facility Information

The Department of Surgery at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia (UHNBC) is seeking a full‑time Orthopaedic Surgeon to provide regional services to Northern BC. UHNBC is designated as a Regional Trauma Centre Level 3 with approximately 54,000 emergency room visits per year. The successful applicant will work with eight other local Orthopaedic Surgeons to provide comprehensive care to the community. On‑call commitment includes extended regional coverage. Visiting specialist clinics in other service areas (currently Quesnel, Vanderhoof and Smithers) also provide regional care opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide general orthopaedic call coverage, including foot and ankle, sports injuries, primary hip and knee arthroplasty and community‑level trauma cases.
• Perform hand call as part of the regular call schedule.
