Job Summary

Assists physicians in the ophthalmologic care and treatment of patients.
Job Duties


+ Assists physicians with examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, treatments, and dressings.

+ Compiles preliminary histories on new patients.

+ Records new problems, including all current medications, on return patients on EMR charting.

+ Scribes in electronic medical record as dictated by physician.

+ Tests visual acuity, near and distant, and intraocular pressures.

+ Administers dilating agents for ophthalmic fundus examination upon successful completion of ophthalmic pharmacology exam.

+ Escorts patients to waiting area.

+ Performs ophthalmic testing, visual field testing, air tension testing, color vision testing, color sensitivity testing, automatic refractors, Retinomax, Keratometry, lensometry, Intraocular lens measurements, pachymetry, optical coherencetomography testing, photographic ima...
