Scope of work

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs both imaging and non-imaging procedures on patients and/or patient samples using radioactive tracers. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for the safe and correct handling of radioactive materials, the care and operation of radiation detection equipment, knowledge of Nuclear Medicine procedures, the appropriate computer analysis to generate a patient result, and patient care. A Nuclear Medicine Technologist uses specific age and culture-related physical, intellectual psychosocial and developmental attributes in assessment planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
