Belmont, North Carolina, Neonatologist Nurse Practitioner Job
  • Clinical Role:
    • This Level 1 unit will have an anticipated 600 deliveries a year
    • An average daily census of about 5 newborns
    • 24-hour shifts: rounding on newborns in-house during the day and then take call from home
    • NNPs will be responsible for daily rounds on newborns, attending deliveries when requested and will take call from home
    • Practitioners would also stabilize, manage and facilitate transport of newborns to adjacent NICUs in Charlotte or Gastonia for newborns needing higher level care
    • Team will consist of 4 NNPs with the sister LEVEL III NICU staffed by 2 Neonatologists and 5-6 NNPs who provide care, which is only 7 miles away
    • Opportunities to do supplemental PRN shifts at the level III NICU in Gastonia may be possible; but would not be required, as this position is for the Level 1 nursery
