About the role
A clearance diver is an exciting career path for men and women of the New Zealand Defence Force. A Navy diver is trained in mine clearance and underwater explosives using the latest diving equipment. They also search for missing persons and conduct underwater engineering on ships and structures.

- Perform training drills, teamwork and support tasks
Requirements (Basics)
- Must be 18 years old by the time you graduate from the recruit course.
- 3 years secondary school education.
- Physical fitness, stamina, ability to work under pressure, strong team orientation.
- Medical and physically fit for military duties worldwide.
- Return of service period may apply for this trade.
