Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Mental Health Specialist III in the Addiction Services of Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care.

The primary purpose of the Mental Health Specialist III/Driver position is to serve as a team member in providing and maintaining a safe therapeutic milieu. This position provides support and assists staff nurses as directed, as well as transports clients to and from treatment and other related activities. Actively participates in group activity and crisis intervention.


Among the key duties of this position are the following:

Provides direct care responsibilities for consumers/patients as assigned. 

Provides direct care services consistent with philosophy of UBHC. 

Maintains appropriate consumer/patient records as mandated by University Behavioral Health Care policy and applicable accrediting organization standards.
