Position Summary
The Medical Physicist Assistant (MPA) performs tasks under the supervision of a Qualified Medical Physicist (QMP) in radiation oncology. The general responsibilities of the MPA include, but are not limited to, performing routine machine, treatment planning system, imaging and patient specific quality assurance (QA), assisting in the maintenance of physics and therapy equipment and assisting with documentation and radiation oncology EMR data management. The MPA assists in validating new radiotherapy technology including acceptance testing and commissioning, plays an active role in improving the existing quality control program and supports daily clinical physics tasks.
Essential Job Functions
Performs patient specific QA measurements following established procedures by QMP.
Performs measurements in phantom for the purpose of treatment plan dose verification.
