Overview
The Medical Assistant is an integral member of the patient care team, participating in the care of patients of all ages in the Faculty Practice. The Medical Assistant should have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to providing the best level of medical care. The ability to work with others is essential as we will be working closely with and sharing resources with the Touro College of Dental Medicine and New York Medical College’s Clinical Trials Unit.
Responsibilities
+ Greets patients and maintains patient flow
+ Obtains and records vital signs and medical information
+ Performs in office testing: EKG, spirometry, audiometry, vision, point of care labs
+ Phlebotomy, specimen preparation and drop off to lab box
+ Prepares treatment rooms for exams, keeping neat and clean
+ Assists physician with procedures or visits as needed
